Vice President JD Vance’s Bluesky account was suspended within minutes of him joining the platform. His posts criticized medical treatments for transgender youth and claimed pharmaceutical influence over healthcare decisions.

whats bad about mastodon.social? aren't all instances the same with some catering to niches similar to lemmy communities? i genuinely do not know anything about politics and would like to be corrected.

Mastodon.social is the original server operated by the official Mastodon gGmbH (German) non-profit, the same group behind the development of Mastodon itself. It has the largest community of users, and has regularly been censoring pro-Palestine & anti-genocide content, banning those accounts.

It has been argued by some that because they are located in Germany, that there are a lot of legal "gray" areas that force them to do it. However, it doesn't explain why they outright ban the accounts. I said, what "Israel is basically no different than Nazi Germany at this point." That resulted in my account getting banned there, while they claimed my statement was antisemitic & Holocaust inversion. Notice however, I never said anything about the Holocaust or Jews. They regularly do this & ban accounts, claiming criticism of Israel is antismetic.
