Why add the father and husband? Are they trying to get sympathy for this perv?
I thought the opposite. The context of husband and father just makes him seem like more of degenerate scumbag—impacting those you’d assume he cares about.

Because you gotta soften the unbelievable allegation that yet another republican turns out to be a pedo or sex pest of some sort.

For me it helps to establish that outward appearances are not good indicators of horrible people. A lot of ignorant people are quick to cast judgment on those that don’t fall into societal norms and here’s this horrible person that checks all the boxes those folks would generally be looking for to establish somebody as a good person.

Or maybe hinting at horrible abuses beyond just the CSAM?
