Right wingers look at politicians as examples of how they should behave.
If a politician who represents them is a good person, then they would be held to the same standard of behavior.
This is why they like scummy leaders.
Then they’re off the hook.
As long as someone in charge is objectively a bigger piece of shit than them, then they must not be so bad, right?
Whereas the rest of us want the best of us to lead us.
They literally want bad leaders as an excuse for their own shittiness.
