This article says audiences are annoyed actors in Odyssey are using American accents. It made me wonder... how much does it matter if actors in historical films have American accents?

Either go all in, or don't.

And since it's usually difficult to get everyone using the accents right, I tend to prefer not. It's easier to dismiss their accents, than have a character suddenly show up and be unable to do the accent.

It's like Keanu Reeves in Dracula. Hearing him say "blue inferno" in that terrible British accent makes me laugh, and it's not supposed to be funny.
