I was saying in another thread earlier today how Gyorkeres is like a rough diamond - he has all the physical traits to be an incredible striker in the PL and CL - pace, strength, a powerful shot, good awareness and positioning, and an aggressive directness. His footwork is a bit clunky sometimes, and his shot accuracy could improve. But the hope is that Arteta and his team will give him the guidance to raise his abilities even higher.
I'm seeing a lot of the same with Madueke in this report. Madueke has basically the same positive traits (directness, strength, pace) as Gyorkeres. And most of the same weakness (just replace occasionally dodgy footwork for Gyorkeres with occasionally dodgy decision making for Madueke. But I think Madueke is also trainable.
One thing I really like about both of them is that directness and their aggression to zone in on goal come hell or high water. We've been crying out for that for a couple of seasons now.
It will be really interesting to see how the two play together. And also how they interact with other more direct and tricky players like Saka, Martinelli, and Rice. I bet our more subtle players (like Odegaard and Havertz) will enjoy playing with these too as well.
