You know what’s even better than stories passed down verbally for tens of thousands of years that certainly don’t reflect our rapidly changing climate?

Evidence and data driven science.

Maybe try feeding the same AI up to date accurate information and see if it’s less prone to error as well.

There is merit in not applying a European seasonal model to our part of the world. There is not merit in replacing it with an ancient weather system.

This article is about evidence and data driven science. They have described what their method is, and they've measured that it performs better than what was done previously. It's not clear exactly what inputs are being used, or how the First Nations calendar ideas are being used, because the article doesn't go into those details. But it the core message is that the researches tried something different and that it seems to be working.
