The Murdochs don’t own Fox News / NewsCorp. They have control over it, but don’t own it.

Fox News is owned by the fox corporation. You’re correct, they don’t have majority ownership but

The company is controlled by the Murdoch family via a family trust with 39.6% ownership share, and by Rupert Murdoch himself to the effect of almost 40%.

It’s a pretty big portion of that big old shareholder vote
