Well that was a bit underwhelming I think?

The actual channelling that Rand did just seems more terrifying than anything. The implications for his life, without even knowing that he’s the Dragon Reborn, are pretty scary.

Thanks. I was just concerned mainly because I never felt really hooked? Like it was an interesting tale, but I’m mostly just annoyed that I’m missing a ton of in universe knowledge that others (mainly Lan and Morraine) seem to have.

Hell, I only even know about the Ajah and what an Amyrilyn Seat is because I started reading New Spring before EotW.

Yeah, the series is a slow burn with revealing information--New Spring was a faster pace, if I remember correctly. But wanting those answers is actually part of what kept me hooked.

I recommend reading through at least the first three books. If you're not feeling it at that point, you probably won't enjoy the rest of the series much. But quite a bit more about the world is unfurled in the next two books.

Oh that’s good to hear. I’m pretty raring to go on The Great Hunt just cause I have so many more questions.
