I saw that no one had shared Junk Store's newly released version '2.0' announcement, so I figured I'd format it for Lemmy and post it here.

Is anyone picking it up? Or trying it out?

Is there any server component to it, other than serving updates? That would justify a subscription model, but I also cannot see any need for it for something like this.

This is linux, updates comme free with your OS.

[–] Localhorst86@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I assume they meant updates to junk store.

[–] ook@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, not sure how that is confusing.

[–] themoonisacheese@sh.itjust.works 0 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

That was clear. Your distribution (or flathub) takes care of distribution (shocker, I know), so there's no costs associated with publishing a new update.

[–] Localhorst86@feddit.org 2 points 22 hours ago

I doubt this is going to be distributed via flathub, less likely even be maintained by your distro
