In a similar boat. 3 years ago I got like 3 offers after like two months of interviewing, plus a bunch of other interviews I bombed. Now I'm not even getting phone screens, despite having more experience.
AI is eating everyone's lunch on top of everything else
Oh yeah. Last time I was deciding between two jobs a few months in.
Is AI eating everyone's lunch or is AI a pretext by dipshit finance bros to claim greater productivity than they actually have by investing oodles of resources into environmentally devastating LLM's that both aren't true AI and are marginally useful at best for email composition about why you wasted the company's money?
Well, the lunch is being eaten either way. Personally I feel like "AI" stuff is not great for anybody except the people selling it (and even they are often losing money)
A couple CEOs have made statements about how they're not hiring anyone in favor of "AI". Somehow Saint Luigi hasn't visited any of them, but I think a couple had to reverse course after the "AI" was bad.
Labor should unite. We don't need infinite growth and profits. Dignity and a sustainable environment are more important
