we've protested in one location, but we haven't protested in a bunch of locations at once at the same time. not one 10000 person protest, but 10 1000 person protests
50501, No Kings protests, Hands Off our Democracy protests… we have done several simultaneous protests across all 50 states at the same time with No Kings having over 5 million protesters nationwide. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Kings_protests
I have slept maybe four hours this month so i'm explaining poorly, but the idea is less "let's have five hundred protests across the united states" and more "let's have five hundred protests across Chicago so it overwhelms the ability of emergency services to respond to the protests, and scale that up proportionally across the united states". I have counted two protests in my county in the last eight months. It has more than ten municipalities.
Ah, now I get it! Very valid and useful idea. Perhaps holding up crosswalks throughout the city? Only takes 2 people to definitely slow traffic and cause a nuisance at each intersection. If this were replicated sporadically throughout the city all at the same time… I can see it.
