This is only really tangentially related, but I thought it'd be interesting to share.
One airport I visited had sensory rooms. Inside, they had some airplane seats in a section designed to look like a plane interior, chairs of different textures, background white noise intended to sound like the inside of a plane, and a projector showing different moving patterns on the wall. There were some other things too.
My travel companion (who has autism) loved the room. The best part is that everyone else avoided the room (I guess they were embarassed to go into a sensory room?) so it was completely empty. Without it, the flight would have been a lot more difficult.
