Great show... that childbirth scene was a little unnecessarily graphic though imo haha. But I get why they did it i guess.

Yeah I felt like the only reason for it was to get the effects team an Emmy. Well deserved, but felt forced.

Oh was that the episode they submitted for? Interesting. I figured they just wanted to fully commit to the ultra-realism and real-time aspects.

Now I just picture an episode of 24 about birth.

Tbh I don't know for sure but read several articles about the use of "practical effects" vs CGI.
