It's the Latin equivalent of the last four words in the last panel, and one of the most famous phrases in Western history, uttered by one of its most famous individuals, Julius Caesar.

I think it's more understandable in English to be fair. Altho I was reading about his crossing of the Rubicon just the other day! Very cool stuff.

On an English-speaking site, surely!

But it's also an international phrase instantly understood across a range of cultures and languages. Plus, I'd say that Zach and his audience tending to be pretty well-educated and intelligent on the whole, they'd tend to appreciate the little twist.

Haha, I do see that I'm being anglo-centric with that.

The phrase just totally didn't stick in my brain when I was reading about it. I appreciate that I'm probably in the minority, though - I just wouldn't have recognised it immediately!
