One thing I think I need to add to my list of Annual Tasks is descaling the kettle with citric acid then pouring the contents down the toilet. I think I'll need drain cleaner to clear this thing out. Maybe a regular pouring of boiling water full of acid will get ahead of these blockages
Vinegar also works and I find the cleanup easier. There are descaling chemicals available at Colesworth for use in coffee machines etc. and these are frighteningly effective when used properly.
I have way too much descaling chemicals for my coffee machine so I could give that a go if the latest batch of drain cleaner doesn't work
can also use vinegar at a half/half ratio and boil as well. Drop some bicarb down the kitchen sink, then follow with the mix, it'll boil out the drains
I'll try that in conjunction with everything else. The other drains are going down fine but it won't hurt
don't put any corrosive chemicals down there, when the plumber needs to come they'll hate you.
That's a good tip because I'm thinking we might need to call Poopknife Plumbing Services. Nothing is helping right now
I use cream of tartar.
