Ezra Klein is a pretty clear example of a left-leaning US political commentator.

Fascism and genocide are directly opposed to leftism.

what would be an example of a commentator that leans moderately left (like just left of center) to you?

Hasan maybe. Dude is a capitalist creep but does tend to promote some actual leftism.
