We were closer to fascism in 2021-2024. I don't see Republicans scouring every minute detail of Democrat politicians lives looking for a way to imprison them over spurious at best charges, or drag them before a party loyalist judge on a forced bench show trial.
Denialism won't make it any less true. Our only saving grace was that the Democrats overplayed their hands so wildly that all but the most damp chinned of cultist drones didn't realize it. This is why Trump won in a landslide.
