Active accounts are by definition, active.

To be fair though, and you know this, some people use multiple accounts on different instances - so any evaluation of subscribers or active users will run into duplicates. Not bots though, or necessarily 'ban evasion'.

Of course, but the proportion of those accounts should be quite low.

For instance, !fedigrow@lemmy.zip has 488 monthly active users, I would be surprised if there are more than 20 alt accounts out of those.

Oh sure, I wouldn't say it's a big number - and I would assume too that alternative accounts on different instances have different purposes with a different set of community subscriptions and visitations.

Yep, I made sure Elevator7009@lemmy.zip and Elevator7009@lemmy.world do not have overlapping subs with Elevator7009@ani.social. Although I admit sometimes any of them may weigh in on Fedigrow, only one is actually subbed there, and I do take care to avoid upvoting or downvoting the same post twice.
