I was about to crosspost these posters (https://old.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1n0sn0z/high_resolution_images_for_all_world_cup_2026/), but I don't know how I feel, first with FIFA and second with the competition happening in the USA...

I was so damn excited for it until a couple years ago. It was finally going to be in my country, as well as having games in my city. It was back in a country I didn't feel the need to boycott (completely boycotted both Russia and Qatar).

Now? Not excited about it at all. If I didn't live in this country, I'd boycott it. I might pick up tickets to a game in my city if the tickets aren't expensive (unlikely). I probably won't watch any games on TV. I might even look into Airbnb-ing my house and taking a vacation to get away. I'm honestly considering going to games in Canada or Mexico instead.

My disillusionment with it started before Trump, but him getting back in office has absolutely killed any excitement I had for the World Cup here. FIFA fucking sucks. The tickets are currently wildly expensive (maybe that'll change when no other countries can/will travel to the US). I have a bad feeling about security and the possibility for terrorism. And if they schedule day games like they did for the Club World Cup, then it'll be a shit show for Europeans.
