Flippanarchy
Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.
Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.
This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.
-
Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

Isn’t as popular as you think, is not an anarchist, and the political implications of his (alleged) actions are not clear to me.
His (professed) politics are a shit show, but he did allegedly do propaganda of the deed.
And it worked, at least a little. I can't find anyone on rhe trains and busses of los angeles whos hostile to him.
I think the events around him are interesting but I think if propaganda of the deed is to be effective the target needs to be basically universally reviled. While younger and left leaning people have largely supported Luigi, most older people don’t, and that’s part of why I think, despite being one of the more successful examples, it still didn’t achieve much of anything.
Also, I actually think that Luigi having incoherent political views was good in this case since there was no concrete movement the ruling class could blame and justify repression against. If he had been an anarchist instead I think things could have gone a lot worse. Especially if Trump or someone more autocratic had been in power.
Again, i have not found a single person while having conversations on tje public trsnsit and streets of los angeles whos hostile. At most they're in the 'well he did a bad thing, but i get it' camp.
yeah that helps. Also the plan popping off helps. Americans have no sympathy for failure.
Im not so sure that couldn't work. Know more than one who turned left because of that act. The considerations are complex, but, like, there's probably a way. I'll leave it to the pro violence doers.
The people you personally interact with in your specific social context in one city in the US are not representative of the country as a whole.

The killing was not popular and if anarchists were associated with it, it would only make them even more unpopular than they already are.
'Acceptable' and 'unacceptable' also much narrower criteria. A lot of the people i talk to saying 'i dobt like murder but i understand it/dont hold it against him' might say 'unacceptable.'
And not everyone everywhere is going to be sympathetic. Thats fine. If the people of bootlick arkansas want to die in chains, that is their perogative.
I'm not generally for or against, just pointing out that it works sometimes and does spark dialogue. Even if its more complicated than 'do crime be popular'.
Oh, also, should be noted: people lie about their values and preferences. Especially around violence.
Not like maliciously, just bevause that's what you say. Especially in a public context-like a poll.
And plenty don't actually know what they believe/believe in nothing re: abstract principles.
Nobody likes war for war's sake, but plenty of people have never seen a war they didnt like.
So im not sure a lot of people really can answer the question polled with any honesty.
