This episode is so excellent. When I was in undergrad Star Trek the Next Generation was appointment TV for my friends and I.Sunday evenings were dinner at Mark’s house and STNG.

We were in awe of this one. Many times we would rewatch the episode immediately, this one was rewatched many times that night.

Absolute banger of an episode. Definitely top five for me. Probably top three in fairness. It ties the timelines so nicely together and the "bad" enterprise is so good.
