I am so angry with Epson that I am replying to this post two years later... Fuck Epson. Epson is a shit company just like all the rest.
Use your favorite search engine to look up "Epson e-ll error". The short TLDR story is: Epson "Eco Tank" printers brick after a certain number of prints. The excuse is that you have to replace ink pads that collect excess spilled ink. Even if you replace "ink pads" Epson still wants you to send in your printer for a simple software reset. Fuck them and all the shady 3rd party fucks who will reset your Waste Ink Counter with a WIC utility.
Search long enough and you will find the free tool that prevents planned obsolescence.

This script was used to fix an Epson ET-2550. Either way I'm never buying a fucking Epson again.
