Oh shit I didn't even see the blunt, just the jar. Either way less than $100 worth of something you can buy legally on many states, and it'll fuck up their life. : /

An eighth goes for like ~70 in Illinois but you can get $30/ounce in Michigan. The price and quality disparity between even legal states is wild. For that reason alone it's time to legalize the herb, to speak nothing on the multitude other reasons.
Illinois' tax is higher. I would still travel there from Naptown over Michigan because the R3 tax supports those harmed by prohibition.
I live in Illinois and travel to Michigan because I'm not going to pay $300 an ounce, especially for what is frankly some pretty mid weed. It's also ludicrously expensive to get a license here to farm or open a store, so in practice only wealthy people get to do it. You can't even homegrow here unless you pay your extortion fee to the state. I think it's cool that the taxes support people harmed by prohibition, that's always a good thing, but I can't help wondering what it would be like with a little bit more freedom. Maybe it would benefit those people more if they were allowed to operate a legitimate business, for instance, but you need $500k liquid to even apply, which presumably prices out the kind of people that tax is supposed to help.
That's a fair assessment. When I was in Indiana, I had an income that allowed for less than reasonable financial decisions. The R3 does help with business loans, though I don't know to what extant or how helpful they are in practice.
An eighth in NJ used to cost $50 way back before it was legal and as far back as I have used it, which was 1999. If you were close friends with the supplier or it wasn't very good, you could sometimes get it for $35. A quarter would run $90 or no deal, so $100. 1g was $20, and you could sometimes get nickel or dime bags, which was great for teens who had little to no income.
Legal stuff kinda follows the same pricing, but the longer its been around the more deals you see and prices are getting lower. So 3.5g can literally range from as low as $20 to as high as $70 now depending on what you get and whats on sale.
Well the claim was that it was 7g, so I just said less than 100. But it should vary everywhere I imagine
