Haha. But this is funny, but also some ableist bullshit.

Not feeling daily agony can be habit forming, but it doesn't make someone into a rastafarian. It would be cool if it did. But it doesn't.

Just doing my part to fight misinfor-meme-tion.

There is a vast, vast number of people who self-medicate with pot, alcohol, coke, video games, internet forums, their phone and social media and just about anything that can produce pleasure responses and have fully embraced the idea that they "need" it to function. When really they've just over-adapted their brain to a particular state and it's not the chemical that is helping them as much as the basic biological fact that brain feels much, much worse without the equilibrium it's become adapted to. (Until a certain re-normalization process passes.)

Whether or not the meme posted here is "misinformation" is kind of subjective, as both these types of people do exist.

If you're afraid that medical or recreational cannabis will come under threat because of this kind of meme... my guy, it ain't going anywhere unless the GOP decides they want to renew the war on drugs and they will do that whether we meme about it or not. This administration is a consequence of too many people checking out and, well... self-medicating.

I think you're underestimating the amount of real pain that is caused by the current iteration of society. People aren't supposed to function in a world like this. It's broken and they're suffering. It's great if some small fraction of people can tough it out. Good for them. They're the aberration.

How am I underestimating anything? This is a phenomenon that people have been subject to for thousands of years. Alcoholism has been around since the dawn of agriculture and people had far, far shittier lives pre-industry. Objectively. The current iteration of society is the best we've ever had. Just because we haven't found a way to balance our wealth and conveniences with personal emotional satisfaction doesn't mean you would be happier two hundred years ago. Quite the opposite, and you would probably die a lot earlier and lot more miserable.

edit: I know you hate being told "it could be worse" but it's TRUE. It shouldn't make you stop wanting a better life, but it SHOULD make you stop using excuses to not do the best you can with the short life you have. Take a hard look at your needs, vices and self-medication habits and try to ask yourself honestly how much time you spend mentally validating something that feels good but doesn't actually help you. It should make you uncomfortable to think about.
