I learned about this 2 days ago when watching a yt video about monsanto and glysophates. They managed to create glysophate resistant plants by shooting the plants with dna from bacteria found around their factories, because whatever managed to live there had to be resistant to the stuff. They used gold as the heavy metal.

That's actually what got me to look this up. It was a Veritassium video, surprisingly.

Yea, I'm not surprised. It was the same video and although I didn't know the channel, it did seem quite popular (with 16 or 17 M subscribers)
