Why is US politics so elitist? In the Nordics, our democracy is intended to allow for anyone to run for a political position. Government for the people, by the people?

How can you possibly enshrine the rights of unbridled capitalism and ensure endless extortion if you let the poors and minorities participate? Think about the profits damn it! How will the share holders survive?!?!!! For the people by the people? Don’t make me anxious. For the markets by the rich white land owning men. * sighs in American relief and comfort *
