Why is US politics so elitist? In the Nordics, our democracy is intended to allow for anyone to run for a political position. Government for the people, by the people?

How can you possibly enshrine the rights of unbridled capitalism and ensure endless extortion if you let the poors and minorities participate? Think about the profits damn it! The people holding the seats are doing everything in their power to keep them. On both sides.
