From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Recent AOSP news had me in shambles.

But I like my stupid games like clash of clans and royale.

My entourage has a lot of gamers. When we want to play together but don't have access to our computers, we can take out out phones and play a quick game of clash or some other stuff and I'd like to keep doing this.

I'm already a fanboy of Fedora & KDE which I'm running on both my personal and workplace machine. I'd like to also "clean" my phones.

I didn't try games, but waydro.id is pretty good. I bet games run as good as other apps, unless it absolutely depends on some weird Play services stuff or has funny anticheat like Pokemon Go. Question is just which "linux phone" you want to pick. Most supported hardware is somewhat old (and maybe slower than your current phone) and Linux on smartphones has lots of quirks and annoyances.
