Fun fact. Did you know that Millennium Falcon showed up at the Battle of Sector 001? Did you also know that R2-D2 can be found in the 2009 Star Trek movie?

Like the man said. Especially the Star Wars ones.

Does this mean star trek takes place long long ago?

There's enough time travel shenanigans for it to take place whenever it pleases.

Star Wars movies are actually from the far future, set in their past (but still our future). And they sent them back in time.

No Star Trek is in the future. That's why all the technology and shit is different.

But it's also in a galaxy far, far away. Perhaps it just took a long time for them to get to our galaxy, with the Falcon arriving some time around the 2200s?

Maybe they came looking for the Asogian expedition?

Maybe our galaxy is the one that's far far away?

Not only are Star Trek and Star Wars similar in name, their galaxys are also the exact same distance from ech other.
