Have you tried Elite Dangerous? I became tired of the time it would take to get to new stations and finally dropped it, but that is another space game.
Yes, but only very short amount of time. I actually played the very first Elite game on the NES back then! So I know the basic concept of Elite Dangerous and that its a "Trading Sim" sort of thing. But I was looking for some sort of planets and aliens and action and adventure style of game, with simulation aspects off course. I can't say if Elite Dangerous would fit in that description, but when I tried it, it was quite complicated too.
Maybe I have to give it another shot, just need to read reviews to understand the game, if its different from the very first original game (gamplay wise off course). Edit: By the way, Starfield is actually the kind of game I was looking for. The only reason I didn't play it yet is, because I was busy with other games and most people disliked it. So I am cautions a bit.
I think they added walking on planets and inside stations at some point and the promo video I saw showed guns and combat, but I can't say what that is about.
I forgot all about Starfield. 'Skyrim in space' with mixed reviews in Steam and a 70$ price. Maybe if it gets down into the 20-25$ range.
