My best friend from high school reached out after not responding for almost a year, saying she'd be open to talking about things. But what is there to talk about? We had a bit of conflict during the first couple of years out, because I was an idiot, but we were way too co-dependent on each other. The friendship just slowly fizzled out.
So it's been a couple of years since I've actually seen her in person. It's been a lot more than that since we've actually been proper friends. Part of me wants to see what she has to say, but I'm not the same person I was when I was friends with her. I hope that she's changed too.
Their "not responding" might've been them going through some shit of their own. I isolate when things get shitty for me. When things get better, I don't really have a concept of who I have and haven't pushed away.
I mean itโs a big thing to reach out like that, a lot of lesser people would not do that. It sounds like youโve both changed for the better over time so maybe itโs worth meeting to see how you feel?
I'll try to organise something with her soon, and take it from there.
