Time to melt down all your gold and recast it, or does that just give you lots of coins that are a bit peckish, rather than one greedy one?
and thus came to be the kingdom whose coins randomly devour other coins once a generation on average
I was thinking that they'd just be a bit nibbly. Every so often, when you reach into your coin pouch wearing a gold ring, you feel something grab your finger. When you pull your hand out, you find a coin clamped on to the ring and growling quietly.
Honestly sounds adorable.
