So, I haven't gone back and checked, but if memory serves, this Delta backstory comes from one of the LN extra chapters while the restaurant stuff is actually part of the mobile game story (roughly, they haven't gone into enough detail to say whether it is exactly the same as the mobile game story yet). This helps explain why Delta wasn't really too torn up about murdering one of her brothers in the John Smith arc...because she had already done so in the past.
In the LN, I remember a bit more detail about how she had started hunting to provide her mom more food, but her brothers kept taking the kills to claim credit and earn clout. Sara tried to honor her mother's wish that they get along by not fighting back against her brothers, until Sara's mom passed. Then, all bets were off...
I don't remember the detail about her picking up her speech pattern (nano desu) from misinterpreting her mom, so I suspect that might be manga original. If so, it's a great touch. It is a small way in which Delta continues to honor her mother all these years later.
