So, I have my arr stack set up to queue downloads through qbittorrent and I've tweaked my release/delay profiles to 720 minutes after release. For some reason my modified version of Sonarr is trying to grab my requested linux .iso's before the official release. Fortunately, I have .mp4 and .mkv filtered in qbittorrent so I don't end up with any of those nasty pirated tv shows, but it clogs up my download client. They'll just sit at 100% complete and seed indefinitely because all the content is filtered to "do not download".

Sonarr sees this as progress in the activity tab and won't attempt to pick up the actual linux iso release when it is official.

I personally use Cleanuparr, but the idea is the same. It monitors your downloads, and issues strikes for anything that fails certain criteria (like being stalled, or downloading metadata, or downloading too slow). If a download collects too many strikes, Cleanuparr will remove it and automatically tell the *arr service to block the download and retry the search. It also includes file extension blocking, to automatically block and retry the junk “Fantastic_Four_First_Steps_(1080p).mkv.exe” types of scam posts.

Unfortunately, the Sonarr devs have specifically said that they have no interest in including a “delay searching until after the official release date” option. Their response to the issue has basically been “use better trackers where those fakes don’t get posted.”

Coming back to comment again to thank you for mentioning Cleanuparr. Finally had some time to sit and take a look at it and this is definitely more feature rich and fleshed out than decluttarr - the crowdsourced malware blocking alone has convinced me to switch over. Thanks again for mentioning this!

I’m so thankful for folks who create these helper apps. Makes managing libraries much easier. It’s a shame more filtering options aren’t in the *arrs natively.
