This announcement comes after the season 2 finale just aired. Check out the ANN article for additional information. Synopsis for the first season from AniList:

The future of this fantasy world now lies in the hands of…a vending machine! Boxxo was once a human, until he died in an accident and was reincarnated as a sentient piece of machinery. While he can still hear and see, there’s no way for him to move by himself or speak more than his programmed phrases. How can he make the most of this strange new life?

I am partway through season 2 right now and I kind of feel like it has lost its way a bit. Most of the second season has been a pacing nightmare I feel like where we are wandering around and doing slice of life things for most of the time, then like a minute of important plot happens just before the episode ends. Also, it makes for a weird tone as the circumstances of this season are quite dire with a disaster unfolding, but they devote a whole episode to silly antics like a beauty pageant.

Not sure what their plan is for season 3, but I hope they are able to right the ship. I was genuinely impressed in the first season with how well the ridiculous premise worked, but it may have overstayed its welcome by now.

It seems like a premise that's great for a short while, and then peters out if they try to keep it up. Hopefully they figure out how to keep it fresh.
