A software update rolling out to Samsung’s Family Hub refrigerators in the US is putting ads on the fridges for the first time. The “promotions and curated advertisements” are coming despite Samsung insisting to The Verge in April that it had “no plans” to do so.

Had to go fridge shopping recently, and looked at them in the stores. The only feature I've seen that is semi-useful is seeing what is inside without opening the door. 100% not worth the cost or ads. Plus the more complicated the extras, the more things that can go wrong. Wound up with a fridge that doesn't even have an in door water dispenser and it is great
