I agree and so did my wife. She said the back story would straight up been an episode if air on Crunchyroll. It was damn good movie and glad we went and saw it, but it could have been better. Looking forward to them finishing this up either with more films or hopefully with an arch on Crunchyroll.
The train arc was released as a movie first and as individual episodes later (with additional scenes), maybe they'll do the same here?
What my wife said and I agree. Seems the way to go.
