Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

How did some production designer think THAT was a good idea?

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Because this convention was in the aftermath of Jan 6, and they were scrambling to both normalize insurrection attempts as well as “own the libs.” From that perspective it was a perfect theme. We should ensure the moniker sticks.

Which is why I always say that MAGA will ultimately be destroyed by their own virtuosic incompetence. It's almost inevitable, they are just too stupid and ignorant to succeed. An eventual fatal fuck up is inevitable.

This is a perfect example. When they should have been running as fast as possible in the opposite direction, they actually thought it was a good idea to double down, and embrace domestic terrorism in the wake of their treasonous insurrection.

In the future, when the PROGRESSIVE Dems take back America, this photo will be a major piece of evidence in establishing MAGA as a treasonous, racist, terrorist hate group. They can't blame this on Libz, this is their own doing. They freely admitted it, and promoted to America and the World. No walking that one back.

That will allow MAGA to be dismantled, abolished, and prohibited.

The Nazi regime didn't implode, despite its incompetence and endless faction-fighting. It took all that, plus vast amounts of military force, to force them out.

Who said anything about Nazis? The Nazis weren't incompetent, just the opposite, mostly. They knew what the fuck they were doing, that's why they were so hard to destroy. So hard, in fact, that apparently we didn't even succeed like we thought we did.

MAGAs are far different. They literally embrace ignorance as a virtue. They will reject intelligent concepts, simply because they are intelligent, or worse, simply because their "opponents" endorse those concepts. MAGAThink is: They are for it, so we are automatically against it, no matter how good an idea it is.

However, every day that passes makes it more and more inevitable that dislodging and crushing MAGA is almost certainly going to take some serious violence. Hopefully we won't have to bomb entire cities to rubble, like it took for Germany to straighten out.

I hope you’re right. Repugs could easily succumb to their own stupidity, sure. But it’s a tall task ahead for progressives.

They not only have to beat the corporate dems who presently run the party and also rig the primaries to remain in control, but then they have to go on to beat republicans rigging national elections. All while the corporate media is demagoguing them like it’s the red scare 2.0. With enough people behind them, it can happen, but how to break through to such a downtrodden and heavily propagandized people?
