The article just says the babysitter took a nap while the GoFundMe says the babysitter was a drug addict.

Cobb, 48, has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children, both felony charges.

This has to be wrong - is this a trumped up charge to get them to take a plea deal or something? I've checked other articles as well. Second degree murder is intentional but not premeditated murder, this fits more into 3rd degree or involuntary manslaughter territory.

Yeah, this seems weird. Negligent homicide...maybe. But not murder. Although, it might have something to do with the fact that there was a kennel full of Rottweilers in the backyard, that even a two year old was able to release. That seems a little too easy. Who does that at a daycare?

Yeah but if the babysitter set it up would it not be first degree since that's clear premeditation?

Yeah, honestly I don't see how they could make 2nd degree murder stick, unless she was literally watching the kid go over to the kennel and didn't do anything to stop him from opening it, knowing he was about to get mauled.
