The 17-year-old suspect from Garwood — a son of a retired police officer and the nephew of the Westfield police chief — was charged Wednesday with the first-degree murders of Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas.

Relatives of Niiotis said the teen had been stalking her for months — something the teen suspect acknowledged on livestreams of his MLB co-op games, which attracted thousands of followers on TikTok.

i mean one of his other comments, is blaming"liberals" for all the recent mass shootings, and murders. which are perpetrated by the right. i feel like some conservative troll accounts are slipping through these instances.

Let's stop calling them "trolls". It was cute when someone with extra time slightly annoyed a person to their amusement.

But these are like... concentrated national efforts at disseminating disinformation & propaganda.

Not so cute anymore.

In europe we call the russian efforts to spread hate on the internet "troll farms", so maybe it's just getting closer to the actual meaning of troll: dangerous and stinky creature

I'm Nordic. The word "a troll" doesn't convey any sort of seriousness or danger. It conveys idiocy and being unserious about everything.

It's so fucking easy just to call someone "a troll" to convey that you're not taking anything seriously. Even when the person has a point.

If people actually averted them as if they were dangerous then it wouldn't bother me as much.
