The poll indicates support for the more aggressive position Newsom has taken in standing up to Donald Trump, particularly over a plan by Republicans in Texas to redraw their state's congressional seat map in the hopes of winning more seats in midterm elections next year.

The battle to become the 2028 presidential election candidate will likely set the new direction for the Democratic Party as it struggles with net favorability at what one recent poll showed to be a three-year low. Newsom has not formally announced his candidacy.

"You are not a woman" is, in fact, hate speech. It's an attempt to deny someones identity in a situation where acknowledging their identity is vital to their health and well being.

It shows a callous disregard for the other person and their future existence which is why it will not be tolerated.

@jordanlund
If I identify as a cat, is calling me a human hate speech?

Being disingenuous is not an identity.

But hey, I'm open minded. If you undergo hormone therapy for a year to change your species and live as a cat 24/7 that can be respected.

Of course you'd have to stop using human language and the Internet...

[–] light@noc.social 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

@jordanlund So the answer is literally yes?
That's funny.

[–] light@noc.social 1 points 1 week ago

@jordanlund I wasn't being disingenuous btw. I was honestly asking how far your "identity respect" goes. With the implicit reductio ad absurdum.

@jordanlund I don't think hormones can change your species. They would be much better at changing sex but I don't think we have the technology to fully change sex yet.
Hormone therapy just changes your appearance IIRC. It can't give you a functional womb, ovaries, or testes. And it can't make you produce functional opposite sized gametes.

@jordanlund
If it did, I might be more comfortable referring to trans people who have undergone such an operation as their adopted sex.

But it HAS to not be forced. That is NON NEGOTIABLE.
