Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes
This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.
Basic Lemmy-quette applies. Additionally, since flairs don't exist yet, please do make sure to include a marker to denote what game your post is about in square brackets for clarity's sake. An example could be:
[BB] This enemy is so difficult!
or
[DS1] Anyone struggling with the gargoyles?

Also, How is your advance run going @v4ld1z@lemmy.zip ?
I've reached Chapter 9 and beat the 2 Rabbit 2 Brotherhood and tried my hands at the DLC. Jesus, I thought they patched the difficulty - it's near impossible to progress. The basic zombies two-shot me and nearly every enemy I encounter is too tanky to reliably kill before I get ganked by three enemies.
Might have to level up some more since I've been down this road before on a NG+ run right when the DLC dropped and it was such a slog to beat enemies and bosses. But I just wanted to get to the DLC as fast as possible again because I've only done one playthrough of it and want to experience it again. Not really sure what to do now since I don't want to progress the main game but also don't want to mindlessly farm levels. Might have to then down the difficulty again. ๐
Oof, On a fresh save? Whack! Sounds like it's scaled for after beating the main story? Or do you need to go back to the base game to beat the final boss? Anyway, you can do it, I believe in you! as you said, there's also the difficulty option to avoid the level grind.
Yea probably, sorta. If you want to access the DLC as soon as it's available, there's a pop-up notifying you about the potential high difficulty at the current stage of the playthrough. So maybe they want you to go into it on NG+, but even then there was the same pop-up. Maybe it's just always there?
In theory, you could play through the entire game up until NP and then go beat the DLC. As long as you do before finishing your playthrough, you can go there whenever.
Thanks :D I'll have to weigh my options. I think the enemies drop more ergo too - maybe I can find a farming spot there so at the very least I can stay in the DLC and don't have to travel back and forth.
Have you decided if you'll be buying it sometime soon?
Well, I do realIy want the dlc Hehe. Money has been tight but I'm going to be doing an artist alley thing next week, and if that goes well then I'll get it as a treat. Fingers crossed.
That sounds awesome. Best of luck!
