That's why I have an awake confirmation. I have to do a thing to shut off the alarm, and 5 minutes later it asks if I'm awake. If I don't confirm, the alarm goes off again.
Of course, depending on what I have to do to shut it off, that loop can last hours.
Guy next to us in the college dorms had 8 alarms clocks. He had to get out of bed and circle to the room to turn them all off.
