Real question. Is there a way on Lemmy to block posts with
instagram:...urls?Not that I'm aware of but it looks like this community only gets posts from Instagram so I'm going to block it
We can sniff each other’s assholes here all we like in our rarified space of the smarties — I love you all — but we cannot ignore that fact that the proles need our help. And btw… I’m just dumb enough to be a bridge. That’s all this space is about.

I think that SLOP OR NOT can become a resource that BURNS instagram AI slip. If we censor instagram we are censoring our ability to respond to the poison that is murdering our culture.
Try adding 'uu' before 'instagram' on the links. For example, on this one:
https://www.uuinstagram.com/reel/DPv-nqPCtkX/
Doing this will make the embed work so people don't have to actually go to Instagram to see the video.
(It won't work here because it's a comment instead of the original post, but hopefully you understand what I mean.)
Looks like this method works but we lose the thumbnail. Well… perhaps it will slow the haters down?
I can't see thumbnails anyways on lemmy.zip, so it's a straight upgrade for me...
I’ll confess, though it will be no surprise, I am not a tech expert, I had never heard of Lemmy.zip— my belief in actual federation was on faith until you mentioned dot zip. Wow, I thought, it works.

A lot of people are really alienated by instagram and for good reason. I see our use of it here more as putting it on trial.
Instagram is an absolute pain when you don't have an account. And if you don't like Instagram, you probably don't have an account... which makes it extra annoying when people post Instagram links.
I still have no idea what you're talking about, but
instagram:links literally do not work on my phone and it's annoying to be getting lots of videos and going to view them only for my phone to give an error message. Is there nohttps://url that would let me see the video?Also, I'm not talking about censoring anything. Just blocking them from my particular feed.
