I've never seen tile flooring in a bedroom before. Is this a thing?

It is in hot climates, my parents lived in the northern part of Australia and I don't remember there being anything but tiles in that house.

My bedroom has tile flooring. Actually tile flooring is the default type of flooring for houses in my country.

Uhm yeah... maybe not america no idea but here in Spain plenty of places where all the house/flat flooring is tiles. And even some of the places where they have wood floors they have installed them later on top of the tiles. No carpet tough, it wouldn't be great anyway as we usually don't remove our shoes inside.
