I’d start with not masturbating in public

He doesn't masturbate in public. He does it in private with an aspiring young actress staring at him in a mixture of horror and disgust.

I thought he asked people if he could do it? Did he actually do it against someone’s consent?

It's a convoluted topic because he holds power and the women were afraid of retribution if they say no. It's a lot like the it's always sunny bit about it not being rape while at sea because women won't say no because of the implications.

I genuinely don't know how to feel about Louis C.K. The me too movement was a scale from Al Franken to Harvey Weinstein.

Louis C.K. wasn't using remotely controlled door locks, at least.

They consented, apparently by their words they did so due to the implication that their career would be ruined if they said no

What does consent mean when you're talking to people who you have control over their careers?

Sure, he may have asked, but if someone felt like saying no means they don't get to continue working?

He probably doesn't deserve a devil's advocate, but that said, I'm pretty sure Louis didn't masturbate in public, but rather during phone calls and in private in front of unconsenting or at least not explicitly consenting company, from the accounts I've read. I'm not defending it because it's abusive and wrong, but it's also not quite the same thing as masturbating in public.

Louie was the one of the most creative and funny show at the time. I really looked up to Louis CK and his work. His whole scandal was the one that taught me not to look up to anyone that’s not directly in my life.
