I think people just don't want to believe that the wealthy and powerful can be that stupid. But why not? Elon Musk was born into a wealthy family and then got super, super lucky during the .com boom. He can absolutely make stupid decisions.
It’s sad how right you are. I had somebody yesterday here on lemmy arguing passionately that CEOs deserve to make orders of magnitude more than everyone else around them because they generate wealth. I mean we are talking about boiler plate, conservative style propaganda. Straight from a Fox News commentator. I don’t understand how people can actually internalize those kind of talking points, yet here we are.
