I also have super dry sensitive skin (exactly like you described in your original comment; I need to have lotion close by at all times because if I wash my hands once or twice they get cracky again, ugh), so I'm definitely going to give your suggestions a shot.
With skincare I feel like it's so easy to fall into the trap of "it's more expensive so it must be better!", at least it has been for me sometimes. Especially battling dry skin, I start thinking I need something expensive to really take care of it, but I guess that's not really true.
