I completely forgot about that! My whole play through on my Pocket they called me that, I was devastated
Yeah I thought it was really interesting how the gameplay penalty is tiny but the psychological penalty is harsh. Really encouraged me to never do it again on subsequent playthroughs.
At least a couple screens down is the crane game that can be cheesed pretty easily. Not as easy in the remake, but not too hard.
