don't they have a line about how advanced he is and how they are concerned he will disable the device if given any real amount of time to process what is happening.

Wasn't he already dead when they blew it up? With just the Kazon about to try and interfere? I can't imagine they killed the caretaker when they blew up the array...

ill need to rewatch. Im thinking then its the fact of having lost control of the array what stopped them from just hacking it like they do everything else later, who knows.

Didn’t the caretaker want the array destroyed after his death so the kazon couldn’t get it and its tech, I believe voyager was worried about the kazon disabling any bomb they left behind.
