It's the best and worst thing to happen to the internet.

Best because - Twitter is a toxic site, with toxic people and a system that encourages ragebaiting means it breeds it.

Worst because - These negative people need somewhere to go... And it will only force them onto alternatives and fester in new places. Potentially here.

I would rather it be Mastodon. I tried threads and it was a bunch of influencers prostituting themselves for follows and likes.

I disagree that the toxic people need somewhere to go. They WANT somewhere to go, but if the internet is built as a place where toxicity is not tolerated, they will have nothing to do but to fume privately, and burn in their little oxygen-less chambers until that flame goes out
